Become a National Grid NYS Clean Heat Contractor

National Grid encourages installers and designers in the ASHP and GSHP field as well as GSHP drillers to become a part of the NYS Clean Heat Participating Contractor Network. More information on this process can be found in Section 4 of the proposed NYS Clean Heat Program Manual.

  • Contractors who were active in NYSERDA’s ASHP and GSHP incentive programs
will be grandfathered into the statewide program. There will only be a
requirement to sign the National Grid Participation Agreement and no
    need to re-apply.
  • Contractors installing ASHP and HP Water Heater equipment who previously
participated in the National Grid Electric Heat and Products Program will need to re-
apply to become a NYS Clean Heat Participating Contractor for
    continued participation.
  • Contractors that have not participated in the National Grid Electric Heat and Products
Program or NYSERDA’s heat pump program will need to apply in order to become a NYS
    Clean Heat Participating Contractor.
  • Installers of HPWHs are not required to join the Participating Contractor Network,
however there are other requirements detailed in the Program Manual.
